Steve Stott brings 40 years of design and build renovating experience, covering every facet of the process — initial concepts, detailed design, estimating, scheduling and project managing the site through to completion. He's personally delivered hundreds of renovations and new homes, including bathrooms, kitchens and laundries, and has direct trade relationships with major Australian suppliers — tiles, tapware and vanities on the bathroom side; cabinetmakers, Polytec / Laminex / Caesarstone, and Smeg / Fisher & Paykel / Westinghouse on the kitchen side. He knows the cost structure, the markup model, the supplier discounts, the design workflow — and the failure modes — from the inside.

The full-service market applies a ~45% margin on top of trades, materials and fixtures — on kitchens specifically that's the showroom, the sales commission, the in-house designer, the project manager and the kitchen company's profit, all sitting on top of the cabinetmaker and stonemason who actually do the work. Owner-managed renovations save tens of thousands of dollars, but homeowners pay in time, stress and rookie mistakes — because no one has done this before.
